Meditation holidays in Corfu
Meditation holidays are becoming more popular worldwide, as more and more people choose to combine their holidays with meditation, to relax and wind down from the frantic tempo of their everyday lives.
More and more people are coming to Corfu to benefit from the positive energy of the island that is evident everywhere. The nature is rich, the olive groves radiate absolute peace and quiet, plants are everywhere, growing next to, on top of and under each other, insects are humming happily, birds are having a party in the trees and the sea is always crystal clear and inviting. It's the perfect place for meditation, the perfect place to feel you are one with everything!
For over 40 years, Corfu has been receiving tourists who wanted to escape from the stress and pressure of their lives and achieve inner peace. In the seventies it was mostly hippies and backpackers who came for their vacation mostly to Pelekas and started nude bathing in the surrounding beaches (Myrtiotissa, Kondoyialos, Glyfada, Yaliskari).
Nowadays, the centre for meditation, healing and alternative therapies lies in the north west corner of Corfu, around Arillas and Ayios Stefanos but things are happening all over the island. Here are some places you might want to check out:
